Whenever you hear about Wenatchee, Washington, you probably think about apples. But these days locals are waking up and smelling the coffee! Caffé Mela, at 17 N Wenatchee Avenue, is making sure of it! Since they opened in 2006, they've created a vibe that combines artfully prepared espresso beverages with an ambiance that makes Caffé Mela a natural gathering place for those who know Wenatchee best!
Not only can you get a find a great selection of the finest coffee drinks in the valley, but owners Darren and Emily Reynolds have put together an impressive concert series that will make it the place to be on a breezy spring night in Wenatchee. Caffé Mela hosts concerts every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. The cost is more than reasonable and runs anywhere from $3 to $8 for tickets (in advance or at the door).
In March, you can enjoy a wide variety of music. This weekend, spend the evening with Kevin Jones on March 3rd. He's played with Rosanne Cash, Joan Baez and John Hiatt (among others). His mastery of stringed instruments is sure to make him a crowd favorite!
Other acts coming this Spring are: Patrick Foster and the Locomotive, Queens of Seven, Beau Van Winkle, Courtney Andrews, Campbell Road, The Cave Singers, Massey Ferguson, Star Anna and the Laughing Dogs, Noah Gunderson. The Spring concert series ends with Dillon Warnek on May 12 and Carrie Clark and the Lonesome Lovers on May 25th.
Still not convinced? 425 Magazine wrote about Caffé Mela in their November 2011 issue and commented: "His (Reynolds) popular coffee house and roaster not only serves well-crafted brews, but house-made bakery temptations, lunch and a small-plates style dinner."
Wenatchee will always be known for apples, but Caffé Mela will also make it synonymous for great coffee and tunes!
